Hi There, sorry if I cover old ground on this one, but I just stumbled across this thread and am hoping it can solve my issues. I have a 2010 Passat with an RNS310 headset.
Unfortunatly the CD palyer mechanisum is defunct, so all I'm left with is the Radio and the SD card reader. I have the Nav maps that came with the car from new. (V2 - UK / Ireland and V4 - West Europe.) However, I'm looking to get these copied across to SD card. I have seen a youtube video showing how you tranfer the files from CD to SD using the RNS310, but unsure how you do it outside of the unit itself. Maybe it's a simple case of copying the files to the SD card?
(I can't imagine it's going to be that easy.) Anyway, any help would be gratefully received. Offline Joined: Mon Jun 16, 2014 10:41 pm Posts: 1 Has thanked: 0 time Been thanked: 0 time. I have downloaded one copy and copied it but as a few on here seem to be experiencing the display says 'cd error navigation data cannot be used'?. Please help as I go on holiday fairly soon and am finding a it difficult to sort out. If anyone has a link or advice please help!!! Do you have the maps?
One important advice: burn as slow as possible. I don't know the file format, but very often, you should not burn the (seperate) map files to a CD, but burn an iso file to CD (sometimes after unrarring) more info: Please or to download file offline Joined: Mon Dec 28, 2009 5:22 pm Posts: 3547 Location: somewhere unknown Has thanked: times Been thanked: times. But you have a PC (probably) that has a cd/DVD writer (most likely).
And you could use a card reader (most laptops have it) and put the SD in it. Remains the question what should be on the SD, the single map files? In what format? The iso file?
Maybe the YouTube video can give you the info, and then it's a matter of copying I guess. Daemon Tools is a free iso reader that might be useful when you have the iso file. It acts like a cd player. Hello, I have searched all but could not find CDRWIN 5. I have already downloaded CDRWIN 10 to burn.cdr files to CD for RNS 310. Is is possible to burn these files with CDRWIN 10, if yes, can somebody shares, which settings should i use? If not can you please send me some link, from where i can download CDRWIN 5. Secondly, if CD is 700 MB, how can i burn a map larger than 700 MB? Is it possible to burn more than one.cdr files to one CD and then to the SD card for RNS-310.
Any help will be really appreciated. Thanks, Keizer offline Joined: Sat Oct 10, 2015 3:12 pm Posts: 1 Has thanked: 0 time Been thanked: 0 time.
With the RNS 310, taking the right road is part of the package. This is guaranteed by the digital card material supplied with the radio navigation system, which displays the driver’s home country in detail as well as all major routes in the rest of Europe. The clear 3D or bird’s-eye view and the automatic zoom-in and zoom-out features for making turns always help you find your way. Thanks to the practical SD card feature, the contents of several navigation CDs for different countries can be saved, allowing you to drive with confidence even to destinations outside your own country.
